First week of school. . .

Well, the first week of my 2nd semester has come and gone. My long, hot summer is over (even though it is still hot here in good ol' Texas). I think this semester is going to go great! I'm working very hard on my positive attitude. I don't have lecture on Monday, so we're already off to a wonderful start! LOL! My clinicals this semester are going to be split between several places because we have to do our OR rotation as well as our psychiatric rotation. I will be mainly based out of the Medical Center of McKinney (which is where I also work). This is going to pose some interesting challenges, but I am up for them! I will also be making a trek out to Terrell State Hospital for a psych rotation as well as the psych hospital here in McKinney. It works out to about a month that I won't be on the med-surg floor. Not much else is going on. I'm sure you don't want to hear about all the wonderful nursing skills I'm learning, and I won't bore you with the details. I will leave you til later. I'm going to enjoy my evening off. I have to hit the books tomorrow since I work all weekend. I hope you have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend. New Territory

Well, today I did something I've been talking about doing for a really long time. I actually posted items on eBay. I think I may have created a monster. I already have a bid on one of my items and it is very exciting. My auctions don't end for a week, so we'll where it takes me. I have a ton of stuff to list, but I'm doing it a little bit at a time in order to test the waters, so to speak.

I have enjoyed my time off. I have one more day. I still have some things to do around here, but then again, I think we always have stuff to do. I go back to work then, in just a few short weeks, school will start.

Oh, yeah, I did something else today. I started the process to finally get my name changed back to my maiden name! I'm so excited about that. I will graduate from nursing school with my maiden name. After all, I am the one who has put in all the hard work. Why should my ex get any of the credit? Just one of those things that I have been putting off for no particular reason, other than the paper work issues! I guess it can't be any worse than an address change. I will find out soon enough!

Vacation Time

My vacation is here. It is lovely to be able to have some time off to get some things taken care of around the house. It's not quite the way I wanted to spend my vacation, but it will work. Today I worked diligently on my office to get it reorganized and set in order for school to start. If I don't do this all now, it will be tough to get it done while I'm working the few weeks before school starts. I still have a ton of paperwork to sort through, but at least the desk is clean and looks like it ready for all the paperwork I must start doing at the end of the month.

I think I can officially say my laptop is ready for school as well. My files are all moved from my desktop as well as in a working order that I can tolerate. I have greatly enjoyed getting to know the ins and outs of my new computer.

Nothing else is going on. I'll touch base later on during my break and let you know how my deep clean is coming. Until then, cj
